Call for Programs

The 2015-2016 WVASPA Conference Committee invites you to join us November 1-2, 2016 in Daniels, West Virginia at the beautiful Glade Springs Resort for an exciting and valuable conference experience.  This year, we will be partnering with West Virginia TRiO to bring the student services personnel in the state a unique and rewarding conference schedule.

Based on extremely positive evaluations from last year's conference,  we will continue the 15 minute mini-sessions called "WVASPA Speaks." These sessions are modeled after NASPA's SA Speaks. SA Speaks is a series of short "TED-like" talks by student affairs professionals first introduced by NASPA at the 2014 NASPA Annual Conference. Presenters spend 10-15 minutes speaking on topics of interest to student affairs professionals with an eye to inspiring and encouraging change. Those interested in presenting a WVASPA Speaks session should still fill out the Program Proposal form and indicate WVASPA Speaks when choosing the format of your presentation.

Length:  All educational sessions are 50 minutes in length with the exception of WVASPA Speaks which allow each presenter to speak for 15 minutes on a topic of their choice.

Program Content:  To build a robust and diverse program, proposals from all functional areas of student affairs and/or student success are welcomed and encouraged.

Programs Evaluation: Programs will be selected based on how they exemplifies best practices for the profession.
  • Applicability to WV campuses/institutions
  • Depth and breadth of learning outcomes
  • Demonstration of how the proposed program will meet those outcomes
  • Uniqueness of program proposal

Deadline: September 16, 2016

Proposals will only be accepted via the electronic form below.  Presenters will be notified of the acceptance of their proposal no later than October 16, 2010.  If you have questions, please contact: Vanessa Keadle
